APD Division Signs Performance Contracts

Varsity to Incubate Nyeri Women Farmers

Over 40 women beneficiaries of the JKUAT In-country business incubation programme from Nyeri County, Wednesday converged in Nyeri Town for targeted agri-business incubation on Rabbit farming. The conference mounted by the Varsity’s Research, Production and Extension(RPE) division saw participants learn about rabbit value chain; from production to processing and marketing. Multimillion Fast Food Manufacturing Plant Launched

A Shs.500 million noodles manufacturing plant has been established in Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture Technology. A noodle is a type of fast food, usually made from unleavened dough and prepared in boiling liquid. Already, a private company under JKUAT/Nissin Foods Ltd to pioneer the project in Kenya was registered in January 2013 as a joint undertaking between the University and Japan based multinational, Nissin Foods Holding. Legislator Urges Machakos Women to Embrace Agri-business

Machakos County Women Representative Susan Musyoka has challenged women from the county to embrace novel agri-business concepts in order to improve their livelihoods. The University has received a Title Deed for a 1.4 acre plot in Mombasa on which it intends to put up a state of the art campus. The plot is situated along Moi Avenue within the Mombasa Central Business District. A new methodology for rapidly measuring the level of antibiotic drug molecules in human blood serum has been developed, paving the way to applications within drug development and personalised medicine.
