Varsity Inches Closer to Environmental Certification
JKUAT is set to be audited by Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS) on ISO 14001:2004, an international Environmental Management Systems. The pre-certification Audit scheduled between April 10 and 17 will be conducted in three campuses namely: Juja, Karen and Westlands. Scientists Move Closer to Curing Tsetse Sleeping Sickness
Scientists have sequenced and annotated the genome of sleeping sickness disease vectors. The study which has been published this month in Science, describes the genetic code for a representative Savannah species of tsetse fly (Glossina morsitans), vectors of protozoan parasites, trypanosomes that cause sleeping sickness in humans and nagana in animals mainly in sub-Saharan Africa.
